春意盎然,新西兰南岛汉语教师志愿者培训正当时

 

        

    新西兰当地时间107日至8日,坎特伯雷大学孔子学院在但尼丁市举行了为期两天的南岛汉语教师志愿者培训活动,共35名坎大志愿者参加了此次培训。中国驻新西兰克兰斯特切奇市总领馆翟建军教育领事出席了本次活动;但尼丁Balmacewen中学校长Andrew Hunter、新西兰教育部教师发展顾问Madlen Kunath、奥塔哥女子高中语言部主任Chris Durant以及哥伦巴高中华人教师丁轶为志愿者们呈现了精彩讲座。

      培训第一天志愿者们聆听了四场安排紧凑的教学讲座。Andrew Hunter校长从世界上对目前教育体系的质疑入手,介绍新西兰教育体系的初衷和特点,强调了语言教学对整个新西兰教育的重要性。他最后指出新西兰每个学校都有自己独特的教育理念,建议志愿者们了解自己任教学校的特色以更好的融入。Madlen Kunath 女士进一步介绍新西兰以学生为中心的课堂环境特点、可能产生的课堂管理方面的问题和解决之道。Chris Durant在简短地和大家回顾了任务型教学法之后,以所有志愿者教师为教学对象,展现了一堂生动的沉浸式德语课堂。丁轶老师则分享了自己在新西兰作为一名华裔中文教师多年来的任教经验以及生活感悟,鼓励大家以积极的方式和心态面对问题和解决问题。

    培训第二天内容为孔院内部圆桌讨论及经验交流。即将于12月份离任回国的22名志愿者们分享了自己的教学经验以及在新西兰八个月生活的心得体会。翟建军领事在听完志愿者们的分享后,对大家寄语道: 你们在这里的工作虽然平凡但是非常有意义,你们是中国语言文化的使者,同时你们也是中国文化的符号。是你们拓展了中国和新西兰民间的友好活动。

     在丰富的教学培训之余,孔院还安排了但尼丁海滩徒步拓展活动。坎大孔院志愿者老师们都表示此次培训内容不但非常实用,也充满了趣味性和互动性。

                                                                                                                                                       

Confucius Institute at the University of Canterbury Held MLA Workshop in Dunedin


On 7th and 8th October (local time), Confucius Institute at the University of Canterbury held a teaching workshop for MLAs at Otago Girls’ High School in Dunedin and 35 MLAs (Mandarin Language Assistant) and teachers from Christchurch, Dunedin, Balclutha, Nelson, Queenstown and West Coast have participated in the workshop. Four lectures and a round table discussion and sharing have been arranged during these two days. Education Consul at the PRC Consulate in Christchurch Zhai Jianjun attended the workshop.

Andrew Hunter, the Principal at Balmacewen Intermediate School introduced New Zealand Curriculum and the modern learning pedagogy as well as the core values which shape the modern New Zealand education system. At the end of his lecture, he encouraged the MLAs to learn more about the philosophies of their individual school so that they can integrate better.

Madlen Kunath, Teacher Development Advisor at ILEP delivered a talk on the Student-centred Language Learning in the NZ context. Chris Durant, HOD at OGHS demonstrated an Immersion German language class, making all the MLAs his students who were learning some basic German through fun games and activities. Ivy Ding, a Mandarin teacher at the Columba College who is also a native speaker, shared her experience and thoughts on teaching at NZ schools, classroom management, and even how to get along with homestay families.

On the second day of the training at the round-table discussion, 22 MLAs who are about to finish their service in December, shared their gains and feelings about 8 months’ teaching and life in NZ . After the discussion, Mr Zhai Jianjun remarked, “You are doing an important job, ordinary but very meaningful. All of you have worked as cultural diplomats, enhancing the people-to-people exchanges between China and New Zealand.”

In addition to the intensive training programs, CIUC also arranged Dunedin culture tour and Tunnel Beach tramping to strengthen the teamwork spirit between all members.
