转自经济学院（通讯员 熊苒苒）3月24日晚8点（巴西时间上午9点），2021年华中科技大学巴西米纳斯吉拉斯联邦大学孔子学院“汉语桥”线上体验营闭营仪式在线上举行，为历时三个月的中国语言文化学习体验活动画上了圆满的句号。华中大国际教育学院院长刘俊华、巴西米大孔院外方院长Barbara Orfano、华中大经济学院副院长欧阳红兵、华中大国际教育学院副院长高翔出席闭营仪式。活动由巴西米大孔院中方院长程进主持。
Barbara Orfano表示非常荣幸能参加此次体验营闭营仪式，并向参与此次线上活动的嘉宾、老师和同学们表示感谢。目前，巴西处于异常艰难的时刻，疫情仍然十分严峻，但她希望全体学员能怀抱希望，迎接未来，在困难时期不断进步不断提升自我。她特别引用了巴西传奇作家Guimarães Rosa的作品，通过文学的力量传达勇气和希望。最后，她对华中大长期的支持表达衷心的感谢，期待双方在国际交流上继续合作，开拓新的领域。
Closing Ceremony of HUST CI-UFMG Online Camp: Contemporary China Held
On the evening of March 24th, Closing Ceremony of HUST CI-UFMG Online Camp: Contemporary China was held online successfully, which finished this three-months activity of experiencing Chinese language and culture perfectly. Liu Juanhua, Dean of School of International Education at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Barbara Orfano, Director of Confucius Institute at Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Ouyang Hongbing, Vice Dean of School of Economics at HUST, Gao Xiang, Vice Dean of School of International Education at HUST attended the ceremony. It was hosted by Cheng Jin, Vice Director of Confucius Institute at UFMG.
Barbara Orfano said it was a great pleasure for her to attend the closing ceremony and expressed sincere gratitude to the online guests, teachers and students. Although Brazil was still suffering from severe Covid-19 epidemic now, she hoped Brazilian students could harbour dreams and expectations for future with unremitting efforts and self-progress. In particular, Barbara quoted legendary Brazilian writer, Guimarães Rosa’s works to deliver courage and hopes to everyone present. Lastly, she extended heartfelt thanks to HUST for its long standing support and looked forward to continue international cooperation with HUST in new fields.
Ouyang Hongbing believed HUST CI-UFMG Online Camp could not come to a perfect end without hard work from teachers, volunteers and administrative staffs at two universities. In last three months, 5 teachers at School of Economics, HUST, gave lectures on Chinese economics development on HUST CI-UFMG Online Camp, and were impressed by Brazilian students’ diligence and self discipline. As the manager of CI at UFMG, School of Economics at HUST wanted to have more international exchange, in the support of School of International Education at HUST and UFMG.
Student representatives, Carolina Brum and Clara Marinhno de Caires Nune, said thanks to HUST and UFMG for giving them an invaluable opportunity in fluent Chinese. HUST CI-UFMG Online Camp depicted an all-round picture of Chinese language and culture and unleashed their passion to learn more, with lectures and courses on economics, philosophy, education and Chinese language and culture.
In his concluding remarks, Liu Junhua mentioned it was the first time that HUST CI-UFMG Camp was held online, but he could feel Brazilian students’ love and enthusiasm to Chinese culture fully. He was sure that HUST CI-UFMG Online Camp enabled Brazilian students to experience modernization and internationalization of contemporary China in multiple dimensions while learning Chinese language and culture. He encouraged all the students to be part of Sino-Brazil efforts to defeat COVID-19 and pursue economic recovery, with the mastery of Chinese and Portuguese. Furtherly, he hoped them to support for open and inclusive values, build a peaceful world, participate in promoting friendships between China and Brazil, and contribute to a community with a shared future for mankind.
Brazilian students, and responsible persons from School of International Education and School of Economics at HUST also attended the meeting.
